What do the late HIM Haile Sellasie and Colonel Qadhafi have in common? Maybe the prefixes that accompany their names.
“Brother leader of the revolution of the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya State, King of traditional Kings of Africa, and Chairperson of the African Union” … vs. “His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I, Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, King of Kings of Ethiopia and Elect of God” …
It is not usually surprising that the best dictators tend to be the best political theoreticians or orators … risking the danger of being a hypocrite. Why? Simple answer: they are gifted to be both witty and a dictator. Case in point: Colonel Qadhafi, one can add many lists to this, even HIM, and Mengistu/Meles. Their gift becomes a problem when they use it to justify their dictatorship. Another problem is that they may not even see themselves as dictators due to the personality cult that they build over a period of time.
Anyway, this green book by the newest HIM is very interesting read.
